App Privacy Policy

Cabana Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") establishes this Privacy Policy regarding the handling of user information in the mobile applications we develop and provide (collectively, the "Apps").

1. Our Policy

We do not collect or store your personal information, nor transmit it to our servers. No account registration is required. All data created within the Apps (such as timer plans) is stored only on your device and in your own iCloud (Apple's private database). No one other than you — including us — can access this data.

The Apps do not display advertising.

We also use anonymous usage analytics to guide improvements. It contains nothing that identifies you, and you can turn it off in the app's settings at any time. See "7. Usage Analytics" for details.

2. Location Information

Some of our Apps use your device's location solely to provide app features, such as measuring distance and pace. Regarding the use of location information, we promise the following:

  • Location information is accessed only while you have granted permission and are actively using a feature that requires it
  • Location information is used solely for the relevant feature, and all processing is completed on your device
  • We do not store your location or your movement routes
  • We do not send location information to any external server, nor share it with any third party
  • Features that use location can be turned off within the App, in which case no location information is accessed at all

3. Health Data

Some of our Apps write records to Apple's Health app, and only when you have explicitly asked them to.

  • Writing happens only while you have turned the relevant feature on in the App (it is off by default)
  • Only the entries that the feature requires are written
  • We never read anything from Health
  • We do not send Health data to any of our servers, nor share it with any third party
  • Anything written can be deleted by you at any time from the Health app

4. Your Music Library

Some of our Apps read your device's music library in order to play music you have chosen.

  • The library is read only while you have granted access to music and have set up a feature that uses it
  • We read the list of your playlists and the contents of the playlist you picked, and nothing else
  • The App stores only the identifier of the playlist you picked. Track names and playback history are never stored
  • We do not send anything about your music library to any of our servers, nor share it with any third party
  • Access can be revoked at any time in the device's Settings

5. Notifications

The Apps may use notifications (local notifications) to inform you about app functions such as timer progress. Notifications are handled entirely on your device and do not pass through any external server. You can change notification permissions at any time in your OS settings.

6. Purchase Information

Payments for in-app purchases (such as subscriptions) are processed by Apple Inc. through the App Store. We never receive your payment details, such as credit card information. For details on how Apple handles your information, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy.

7. Usage Analytics

Some of our Apps use TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany), an anonymous usage analytics service, to understand which features are used and decide what to improve.

  • What is sent: in-app actions (for example, using a feature or switching screens) along with general information such as the OS version and device type
  • No advertising identifier (IDFA) is used, and no personally identifying information — name, email address, location — is sent. The user identifier is hashed irreversibly on your device, so we cannot identify individuals
  • It is never used to track you across other companies' apps or websites
  • You can turn it off at any time in Settings › Privacy › Share usage data

8. Third-Party Data Collection

Other than the usage analytics service described in the previous section, the Apps do not use any other third-party data collection modules. No advertising SDK is used.

9. Children's Privacy

The Apps are not directed at any specific age group, and we do not collect personal information from any user, including children.

10. Your Rights in the EU/EEA and the UK

If you live in the EU/EEA or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR and the UK GDPR.

What we process, and on what legal basis

Data you create in the Apps (plans, workout history, and so on) is stored only on your device and in your own iCloud. We never receive or process it. The only processing we are involved in is the anonymous usage analytics described in "7. Usage Analytics".

The legal basis for that analytics is our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): improving the quality of the Apps and finding defects. It contains no information that identifies you, and we do not use it for advertising, share it with third parties, or use it for profiling. You can turn it off at any time under Settings › Privacy › Share usage data in the app, which also serves as an exercise of your right to object.

Where the data is

TelemetryDeck GmbH, the analytics provider, is based in Germany and processes the data within the EU. No transfer outside the EU takes place.

Your rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability. However, the only data we hold is anonymous data that cannot be linked to an individual, so we are not technically able to locate, disclose, or delete the records belonging to a specific person (GDPR Art. 11). We will not ask you to supply additional personal data in order to do so. Data on your device is entirely under your control: you can erase it at any time from within the app or by deleting the app.

Complaints

If you have concerns about how your data is handled, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country — the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the United Kingdom.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as we add features to the Apps. If there are significant changes, we will announce them on this page. The updated Policy takes effect when posted on this page.
